ADDING P-CHANNELS - 8528 ONLY

The 8528 can have up to 99 P- Channels.

P-Channels are user programmable channels

They can be used to store extra channels not in the EPROM, Telephone numbers & band scan channels

To program Receive only P-Channels

Press ENTER

Press 0

enter the receive frequency

Press ENTER

Press MODE to select either USB/LSB or both

Press ENTER

enter channel number

Press ENTER

To Program Transmit/Recieve P-Channels

IF you do not have Option TX-E you will need to do the following.

Remove the Larger of the two lids. Identify the microprocessor link. Short out the pads in position 1.

With the link still shorted, turn the radio on.

The link only has to be present while the radio is powered up. It can be removed after switch on, however the radio
will not transmit until the link is removed and the radio turned off ,then on again.

If you plan on adding Transmit P-Channels often, you can solder some wire to these pads, and connect them to a switch
mounted on the front or back panel of the radio.

Note: If there is a link soldered in position 2, You can not overwrite existing P-Channels. Remove it if you want to overwrite them.

Press ENTER

enter the transmit frequency

Press ENTER

enter the recieve frequency

Press ENTER

Press MODE to select USB/LSB or both

Press S'CALL to toggle through Selcall/tone call options

Press ENTER

enter channel number   NOTE: If the transmit and recieve frequencies are different you must use ch 70 through to 99

If the display shows FULL or USED, you can overwrite the channel by a further press of the ENTER button.

If the display shows TOO HI or TOO LO, re-enter the frequency.

Adding Band Scan Channels

Within 1 second, press the following 3 buttons.

Press ENTER

Press 1

Press SCAN

Enter the start frequency

Press ENTER

Enter the stop frequency

Press either 2 for slow scanning (100Hz steps) or 1 for fast scanning (1Khz steps)

Press MODE to select USB/LSB or both

Press ENTER

enter the channel number between 70 and 99

Press ENTER

Using Scan Channels

Select the channel and press SCAN

To pause scanning press 1, to resume press SCAN again

To stop scanning press SCAN

To delete a scan channel, select the channel, press ENTER, 0, 0, ENTER
