TUNING DIFFICULTIES ON 80 SERIES LANDCRUISERS
80 Series Landcruisers may
sometimes experience tuning difficulties on some frequencies.
This is due to
the rubber mounts between the chassis and body of the vehicle changing
the
impedence of the vehicle.
This modification to the 8558 antenna may
help. This may also be applicable to some other 4WD
vehicles
1. Remove the antenna from the vehicle
2. Undo the four 5mm Allen keys in the antenna base
3. Remove the base, noting position of the earth braid
4. Remove the square aluminium anti rattle plate.
5. Remove the link between X1 and X2
6. Resolder a new link between X2 and X3
7. Put the antenna back together, making sure the O-ring is in place correctly
8. Test the antenna on the vehicle
