Codan 27/28 Mhz Tx Modification
If you have an Eprom fitted with
either CB or 28 Mhz Amateur Frequencies, you will need to do the
following
Modification to prevent burning out the PA Filters
The Filters in the PA were only designed up to a 24Mhz Transmit limit
By performing this modification you will reduce
the Transmit power to around 10 watts on these higher frequencies.
Any higher
and you WILL burn out the PA.
Remove the larger of the two lids, exposing the PA and microprocessor boards.
Solder a wire from either pin of P3 in the PA to Pin 2 of P2 on the Microprocessor board
To identify these connectors click on
P2 on the micro board. The brown wire is for the low power mod.
